Easter and Summer Holiday Tuition 11 plus Programs
Are you looking to have your child prepared for the 11-plus exams? Then you are in the right place. With the expertise, our tutors are here to make things possible for your child to succeed with their 11 plus. We have designed a specifically targeted program that focuses on the abilities of your child and implements already proven methods.
Our devotion comes from the fact that we know how important these exams are, which means there isn’t any time cutting corners. We are here to help.
What Can You Expect From Our Side?
The tutoring sessions we offer are crafted based on your child’s needs. This is the only way for them to excel in their capabilities. So, the tutor first gets to know your child and their learning habits. Based on this, they are able to craft a program to prepare them for the 11-plus exams in the best way possible.
Firstly, a pre-course assessment will be given to your child. This will help in the assessment to highlight specific areas that need improvement. These can be English, maths, verbal and non-verbal reasoning. After the completion, the tutor will have a better understanding of what exactly your child requires and which learning style can help him or her best. This being said, the feedback and the results from the pre-course assessment will be provided one week before the start of the course giving us and you enough time to prepare for the 11 plus tutoring sessions.
The Course Program
What does your child get during the course? Revision, new exam techniques, and the mock exam. Covering all the important topics for each subject is part of our tutoring program regardless of your child’s capabilities and knowledge up to that point. We are here to make sure that everything is covered and each subject is well understood. In addition to this, your child’s specific areas of need, areas where there are weaknesses, are covered as well. We do this with the intention to help them go past any obstacles that they are currently facing.
Our interactive tutoring sessions will be interesting enough for your child, creating a chance for them to fill in the gaps created from the school classes during the year. It is planned for your child to answer exam-like questions. This will teach them valuable exam techniques and improve their concentration levels when sitting through the actual 11 plus exam. In order to do so most effectively, our tutors will not only pose the questions but also explain them and describe all the types of questions of the 11 plus. This won’t only improve the knowledge of your child but also help them understand exactly what is required of them in order to gain full marks.
Your child will learn how to work independently, but the tutor will always be present, giving support to them at all times.
The Mock Exam
The Mock exam is another type of exam covered by our summer tutoring program. We include the mock in the last couple of days while the course lasts and it covers English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. However, the reason why this exam will yield good results and will be effective is that it is taken under exam conditions. This way your child knows exactly what will be needed from them when the time comes. Feedback and reflection are included as well, as there is a specifically devoted time for the tutor to discuss all the areas of weakness your child still has. This way they will know what to focus on further and are able to reflect and learn from their mistakes.
At the end of the course
At the end of the mock exam, you will get your child’s papers along with an extensively written report on the results. This is when you as a parent can discuss your child’s progress and how to maintain and improve the acquired skills from this tutoring session. Your tutor, after spending hours teaching your child, will be able to tell you exactly in which particular area the child needs to do the extra work. Remember that your tutor is here to help if you need any additional work on the problematic areas of your child.
The end of the course can be followed by a one-on-one session if there is a need to address the points of weakness. Of course, this can be further along discussed with the assigned tutor and they will be happy to make this work for you in the best way possible.

Mathematics
Place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and Basic algebra and equations working with fractions, negative numbers, ratios, decimals, factors and multiples, percentages, sequences, special numbers, and number patterns. Shapes and symmetry, area and perimeter, working out angles, measurement, 2D and 3D shapes, volume and capacity, reflection, rotation, and translation. Reading scales and unit conversion. Data handling, graphs, probability, percentages, and square numbers. Median, mean and range, telling the time and related problem-solving. Note that additional topics may be added to the list.
Verbal Reasoning
The verbal reasoning sessions cover a mixture of English and Maths logic questions. For example, letter and number sequences. Substituting letters and numbers. Relationships. Compound words. Number and letter patterns. Missing letters from a word, words between words, forming new words, swapping words to make the sentence make sense and word problems.
Non-Verbal Reasoning
Here a mixture of non-language-based logic questions using patterns, shapes, pictures, and symbols is included. For instance, identifying similarities in a set by finding the odd one out or one that belongs to a set. Identifying sequences by finding the next one in a sequence or confirming the repetition of a pattern. Finding the link between a pair of objects and applying that link to make a second pair of objects.
Sizes of The Groups
In order to deliver the best experience and achieve excellent results, we have decided to limit the number of children in each group. There will be no more than 10 at each session which allows enough time for each child to express themselves and receive the needed attention from the tutor in return. Additionally, there is another tutor available that will provide one-on-one support during English and maths sessions because from experience these are the subjects that need the most attention.
The Tutors
The tutors at 11 plus aren’t with us by chance. We tend to carefully select the people we work with based not only on their knowledge but also experience and tactics with which they share their knowledge at the tutoring sessions. The friendliness and caring nature they possess will help your child feel safe and cared for, giving him the freedom to express and gaining self-confidence to truly believe in themselves.
